We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic speech and language therapist to join us. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years experience working with early years and school-aged children.
You will be passionate about supporting children and their families, and will love providing tailored and child-centred therapy. You will be confident supporting children and their families with a range of speech, language and communication needs which may include; speech delay, language disorder, autism, ADHD, apraxia, social communication differences, stammering.
The role is split between mainstream independent schools and clinic (both based in Battersea), with children aged 3-13.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children' speech, language and communication skills.
Develop individualised therapy plans based on assessment results in collaboration with the child, their family's and the wider education team.
Implement therapeutic interventions to develop client' communication skills.
Collaborate with other healthcare and education professionals to provide holistic care.
Educate clients, their families and other professionals about speech and language delays, differences and disorders.
Provide comprehensive feedback regarding therapy progress and next steps, in a highly individualised and tailored was to parents and carers of the children you are supporting.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and therapy outcomes.
Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in speech therapy practices.
Skills
Competent and confident at assessing, differentially diagnosing, and providing therapy for a range of speech, language and communication disorders and differences.
Proficient in technical terminology related to speech therapy.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an understandable manner.
Empathy and patience when working with clients of diverse backgrounds and needs, including their families who may have complex dynamics.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
Passionate about providing high quality therapy.
Excellent self-reflection skills.
Experience supporting and understanding of neurodiversity.
Experience working as a part of a MDT, excellent collaboration and negotiation skills.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 210.00-290.00 per day
Expected hours: 7 - 36 per week
