Job Description

DAC Support Ltd provide a range of support to students in receipt of DSA (Disabled Students' Allowance) throughout England, UK. Due to the expansion of our services we are looking for experienced Study Skills Tutors.

Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support assists students to develop skills required for effective study in Higher Education, to enable them to become independent learners. You will support students on a one-to-one basis to overcome barriers to learning that result as an impact of their Specific Learning Difficulty. Support will be tailored and personalised to individual student need.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To deliver Specialist Study Skills sessions in accordance with DSA and DAC Support Ltd guidelines.

Plan and implement specialised, tailored support based on students' individual disability-related issues.

Record management and completion of documentation relevant to Specialist Study Skills sessions e.g., time sheets, individual support plans etc.

Represent DAC Support Ltd in a professional manner and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Regular supervision and CPD.

Essential Requirements:

Applicants must have one of the following:

Professional Body Membership to PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE or Dyslexia Guild. A Teaching Qualification A relevant Postgraduate Qualification National Autistic Society (NAS) online training course. All six modules to have been completed.
Successful candidates will have experience of supporting students with Specific Learning Difficulties in Higher Education, knowledge of how SpLDs & ASC can impact on learning and an understanding of the strengths that students with SpLDs & ASC can bring to an academic environment.
