About us



The LSS is made up of 4 teams (Cognition and Learning Team, Autism and Social Communication Team, Deaf Education Team and Visual Impairment Team) who work to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in schools and settings across Salford. Each of these teams is made up of dedicated teachers and teaching assistants who have both experience and additional qualifications in their area of expertise, and we work closely with a range of other professionals to ensure the best possible service for the children and schools of Salford.



About the Role



The role involves working a busy caseload across the LA, supporting schools to be better placed to support children with additional needs. As part of a dedicated team you would be responsible for delivering interventions 1:1 with children or possibly for small groups, modelling strategies to school staff, undertaking observations, and working closely with specialist teachers from the Cognition and Learning Team or Autism and Social Communication Team. You will also have an integral part to play in supporting children and young people to have their say in how they are best supported and making their voice heard.



About you



Your style and approach will reflect out values and you will be passionate about improving outcomes for the children and young people of Salford and always striving to improve things. You will have proven experience of working with children / young people with SEND within a similar role or within an education setting. You will be an effective communicator who is able to work with a variety of people, but also able to work on your own initiative and manage your own workload.
