The post is based in the CAMEO Early Intervention in Psychosis Service in Peterborough.
CAMEO is a multi-award-winning community mental health service for people aged who are experiencing a first-episode psychosis. The focus is on recognising and treating psychotic experiences early to provide better outcomes and an improved chance of recovery. CAMEO is expanding to become a 3-year age inclusive (14-65) early intervention in psychosis service.
CAMEO provides a holistic service including a wide range of psychological interventions, educational and vocational plans, support with housing, finances, and leisure activities as well alongside expert Psychiatric assessment and treatment .
CAMEO accepts direct referrals from any source, including patients and relatives. CAMEO has strong links with the department of psychiatry at the University of Cambridge and is involved in world class research projects. CAMEO has influenced changes in policies and practice at national and international level.
The post holder will work with 2 consultant Psychiatrists in the CAMEO North team based in Peterborough to provide assessment, treatment reviews and clinical input for patients across the team with the support and supervision of the consultants.

Teaching and Training
The appointee is expected to participate in teaching and training of junior staff, medical students and trainees in psychiatry, and to supervise junior medical staff within the specialty.
The post holder would be eligible to undertake a formal 'Training the Trainers' course.
Job Planning & Appraisal
? Job Plans are reviewed regularly usually with the supervising consultants
? Specialty Doctors are required to take part in the annual appraisal process and engage with Revalidation as described in the Trust's Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Policy.
Training Opportunities
1. Opportunities to take part in mental health research projects.
2. Attendance at weekly education meetings.
3. Opportunities to undertake service audit, working within a Clinical Governance audit plan. Support is available through the Clinical Governance Committee Convenor and the Clinical Governance facilitator.
4. Specialty doctor peer group meeting to consider professional and work issues.
