Job Description

This is a 10PA appointment for a Specialty Doctor in Dermatology. This post will be available from June. This is for a period of 12 months.This post will deliver 10PAs supporting the Dermatology team. The post-holder will provide skin cancer surgery, general dermatology, patch testing and laser.The post will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital.Applicants should have established skills in Dermatology. Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.Main duties of the jobThis post, within the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, principally based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a dynamic team as well as the opportunity to develop a stimulating combination of clinical, teaching and research work. Leeds is a world recognised centre for the management of skin cancer and offers all the skin cancer treatment modalities locally. The unit hosts the Regional Specialist MDT for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, Melanoma and Cutaneous Lymphoma. Job responsibilitiesThe post is a service and training post for a fixed term of 12 months. The candidate will have an allocated Educational Supervisor and have clinical supervision for all clinical activity. The initial year will offer experience in General Dermatology, Skin cancer surgery and patch testing. Subsequently, training will be offered in the other Dermatology sub-specialties.Person Specification
Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills

• Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment.
• Evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in a relevant specialty at time of application and likelihood of achieving ST2/CT2 competences in a relevant specialty by the start date of the post

• Evidence of active participation in audit

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
