You will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Ophthalmology which is an integral part of the Division of Surgery at the QEH.
You will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care to patients within the trust and to contribute to the further development of the Ophthalmology service.
An average of 8.0 clinical sessions, consisting of laser lists, IVT lists, medical retina and glaucoma clinics will be worked. There will also be sessions to provide surgical assistance on Vitreoretinal theatre cases. Extra managerial responsibilities may be required to be accommodated within the timetable. To assist Consultant teams to deliver effective and comprehensive Ophthalmic care to our patients.
There are two SPA / administration sessions per week and the opportunity to attend regular regional ophthalmic teaching sessions
The post holder will participate in regular teaching and audit sessions and will also be involved with supervising trainees in clinics and theatre when necessary.
The post holder must undertake to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances that are essential for continuity of patient care.
