We are working with a

SEN School in Westminster

are looking for a

Speech and Language Therapist

to join their team and lead sessions for pupils with complex learning needs inclusive of autism (

ASD

),

MLD

and communication (

SLCN

) challenges.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for:

Assess and diagnose speech, language, and communication difficulties in pupils with

ASD

and

MLD

. Develop and implement individualised therapy plans. Provide direct therapy sessions to individuals and groups, incorporating a range of evidence-based techniques and strategies. Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other professionals to integrate speech and language support into the wider curriculum. Support staff and parents/carers in reinforcing communication strategies and techniques in the classroom and home environment. Monitor and evaluate pupil progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure ongoing improvement.

Requirements of a Speech and Language Therapist:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or similar field. HCPC registered. Previous experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist, preferably with children with special needs. Knowledge and experience of working with ASD, SLD, and MLD. Familiarity with Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Makaton. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children with communication difficulties. Pay: 32,105.85-48,187.87 per year
