In this role you will be required to:
inpatient management of acutely unwell patients on general medicine wards, including care of the elderly, cardiac, respiratory, emergency medicine, trauma, and one critical care unit (cardiothoracic)
Assessment and treatment of dysphagia and communication disorders
Ability to work flexibly across other inpatient caseloads as and when the need arises with support, e.g. Acute Neurosciences, Critical Care, Acute Stroke
Additional competencies for advanced skills highly desirable - including tracheostomy competencies and videofluoroscopy competencies
What you'll need to se successful:
HCPC Registration
Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
Formal post-graduate dysphagia training
Experience and well established knowledge of specialist SLT assessment tools and therapeutic interventions relevant to clinical area
