Job Description


A leading North West charity for children and young people\xe2\x80\x99s services is now looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join the team, supporting vulnerable learners at their specialist education centres in the Stockport-Manchester area.

Through individual care, specialist provision and education services, the charity offers young people in care and with disabilities, ASD and/or mental health needs (and their loved ones) holistic and inclusive support to build a bright and fulfilling future. Their specialist education centres were designed with overcoming barriers to learning in mind, bringing together personalised initiatives, intensive support, and integrated therapies to offer a safe and nurturing environment for pupils who would struggle or have struggled in other settings.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will join the multidisciplinary clinical team (not limited to OTs, specialist teachers, psychologists, and sleep specialists) in delivering targeted 1:1 and group-based interventions that support young people with a broad range of complex learning needs (such as SEMH, DLD, sensory differences, and more) to feel valued and included, develop new knowledge and skills, and gain the confidence they need to challenge themselves, grow and thrive.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5) position for a Speech and Language Therapist, covering term-time only. Quoted salary figure is the actual pro-rata\xe2\x80\x99d amount you will earn.

Person specification:

Candidates must have:

  • Active registration with the HCPC as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT)
  • Active registration with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
  • Previous experience practising within clinical and special educational settings
  • A clean UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel
