An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated, HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to join the Therapy Team at Adderley Green Care Centre in Stoke-On-Trent. The role will be a full-time (37.5 hours per week), Band 6/7 equivalent. The banding and associated salary will be dependent on experience and will be discussed following a successful interview.

Adderley Green is a neurological complex care centre that provides specialist care and rehabilitation to those with a wide range of neurological conditions. You will work across the units within Adderley Green, each of which have a range of progressive conditions and acquired brain injuries. There is also a unit dedicated to managing tracheostomy patients.

You will be joining an innovative team comprising of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Neuropsychology and Music Therapy, with Therapy Assistants working between these disciplines. In addition, we work closely with the local hospital services including Dietetics, Neuropsychiatry and Rehabilitation Medicine. As the Speech and Language Therapist, you will also be liaising directly with the local ENT and Video fluoroscopy departments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with service users, carers and families
  • Participate in resident care planning and will contribute to the completion review reports
  • Be responsible for supporting less experienced members of the team in both their clinical and professional development, relevant to Speech and Language Therapy
  • Actively contribute to development at service level.
To be successful in this role, you\'ll need
  • To be registered with HCPC
  • Minimum of three years\' experience and be fully competent in dysphagia assessment and management.
  • Experience of working with families
  • Evidence of Continuing professional development
