THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY COVER.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy services across Conwy and Denbighshire to Pre School children. This is a part time (22.5 hours) fixed term post.



We would like to hear from those who have an interest and background in working with pre-school aged children with speech, language and communication needs. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, professionals and family members is essential for this role.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.



The successful applicant will work under the supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to deliver intervention packages for pre-school aged children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties. These intervention packages are delivered across a range of settings e.g. community clinics, schools and playgroups, as well as via telehealth, and may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or in a small group.



There will also be a requirement to create and prepare therapy resources and to support with other administrative tasks e.g. photocopying, filing, completion of audits/checklists, ordering equipment.



The successful candidate will have:



Excellent communication skills.



The ability to work as part of a team, to build a strong rapport and work effectively with colleagues.



Experience of working with pre-school aged children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.



Excellent time management and organisation skills.



The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
