Job Description

An opportunity to gain experience as a newly qualified Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist working with acquired disorders of communication and swallowing in adults. The position available is a rotational post with opportunities across our acute general medical and stroke services in Broomfield, our community service and our Early Supported Discharge Service for Stroke. The post is accountable to the Operational Lead for MSE Adult Community Speech & Language Therapy.



This position is suitable for newly qualified SLTs as their first post or those with some experience wishing to move into Adult work for the first time. This an exciting time to join the team as we are working with our partners to transform Community services across the Mid and South Essex area.



Summary of the key responsibilities:



providing a Speech and Language Therapy service to adults with acquired disorders of communication and swallowing



undertaking diagnosis, assessment and treatment of patients with a range of speech, voice, communication and swallowing disorders.



liaising and offering advice as appropriate to a wide range of professionals



responsible for the daily organisation of sessions.



demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.



The post holder must have undertaken, or be prepared to undertake, post graduate training to work with disorders of dysphagia



The post holder must hold a 1st degree level qualification or equivalent and be registered with HCPC and should be a member of RCSLT.
