We're recruiting on behalf of a local

alternative provision

that supports young people in KS3 and KS4 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. These pupils need someone who can bring energy, patience, and resilience, a positive role model who can unlock their potential through activity, structure, and encouragement.

If you've got a background in PE, coaching, youth work, or outdoor learning, and the confidence to support pupils with challenging behaviour, this could be your next move.

What You'll Be Doing

Inspiring pupils through

PE, outdoor activities, and active learning

Supporting behaviour and emotional development, building trust and boundaries Helping pupils with classwork 1:1 or in small groups, both on and off-site Stepping in to deliver planned work when teachers are absent Joining in on trips, supervising at break and lunch, even serving breakfast when needed Supporting safe & well home visits, transport runs, corridor duty, and more Being a positive role model, someone pupils look up to and staff rely on

You'll Need:

Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour A full UK driving licence and access to your own insured car (with business insurance) Ability to diffuse and divert obstructive behaviour Ability to reinforce self esteem and independence Strong communication, patience, and a team-first mindset Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures GCSEs or equivalent in English & Maths

Bonus Points For:

A sporty background, PE, coaching, youth sports, outdoor adventure Team Teach, behaviour management, first aid PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH experience Ability to lead group activities or short lessons with confidence
