With a growing digital platform and a heritage rooted in traditional bookmaking, we are now looking to expand our trading team by hiring an experienced Sports Trader. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with a respected bookmaker in the industry and play a key role in shaping the trading strategy of a premium independent operator.

Role Summary

You will be responsible for managing both in-play and pre-match trading across multiple sports, with a strong focus on football, horse racing, greyhound, basketball, and tennis. The role requires fast, accurate decision-making, an analytical mindset, and the ability to adjust trading models in real time to maximise profitability and client satisfaction. This position is shift-based (9 hours with a 1-hour break in between), covering both daytime and evening sporting events. Weekend and holiday availability is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Market Analysis & Trading

Manage in-play and pre-match markets across high-volume sporting events. Compile odds, monitor liabilities, and adjust pricing in line with live play and market movements. Analyse market conditions to ensure competitive and profitable odds. Maintain real-time pricing accuracy to deliver a first-class betting experience.

Trading Model Management

Set up and adjust pre-match and in-play trading models. Input and update pricing variables accurately. Implement risk management strategies to protect the company's interests. Ensure precise entry of all in-play match data.

Coordination & Issue Management

Escalate technical or data-feed issues promptly to the Trading Manager. Assist front-line support with complex trading queries. Ensure all trading activity complies with UKGC regulations and internal company policies. Keep detailed, auditable records of trading adjustments and decisions.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum 2 years' experience in sports trading or sportsbook operations. Strong knowledge of UK sports betting markets, especially football and horse racing and greyhounds. Excellent analytical skills and confident decision-making in fast-paced environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and trading software. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (BSc minimum) in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related discipline.
