The successful candidate will play a key part in promoting health, well-being, and inclusivity through sports in local communities, with an emphasis on football.
Key Responsibilities
:
Community Sports Sessions
:
Organise and deliver engaging community sports sessions across inner-city Birmingham, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all participants.
Assist in the coordination of existing programs, working with coaches and volunteers to deliver high-quality sports experiences.
Support the recruitment, development, and management of volunteers for community sessions.
Project Development
:
Lead the development of new sports projects across Birmingham, identifying community needs and delivering targeted initiatives to improve physical activity levels and community engagement.
Establish partnerships with local schools, sports clubs, community organisations, and stakeholders to support sports development and outreach.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sports projects, ensuring they meet targets and deliver positive outcomes.
Football Club Operations
:
Supporting day-to-day operations of the football club, including scheduling matches, coordinating training sessions, and overseeing equipment management.
Ensure compliance with league regulations, safeguarding standards, and health and safety guidelines within the football club's operations.
Health and Safety & Safeguarding
:
Ensure all sports activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding protocols, health and safety regulations, and first aid procedures, applying these in all activities.
Administration & Reporting
:
Maintain accurate records of participation, project impact, and any required reporting for funders and partners.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
:
Proven experience in managing or delivering community sports projects, particularly within diverse, inner-city environments -
minimum 2 years.
Knowledge and understanding of sports development, community engagement, and grassroots sports operations.
Clean DBS check

Desirable Skills
:
Coaching qualifications across various sports (e.g., FA Level 1/2, basketball, netball) are desirable but not essential.
Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
Ability to engage and motivate people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
A passion for sports and a commitment to using sport as a tool for positive social change.
