Purpose of the Role

The Sports Cafe Minister will lead and host the Sports Cafe as a place of welcome, connection, and ministry during evenings and weekends. The cafe, which features live Sky Sports, will serve as a hub for fellowship, conversation, and outreach.

This is a pioneering role -- helping to build bridges between sport, community, and faith as part of the launch of thenew London Rangers Church.

Main Responsibilities

Host and oversee the cafe during match nights and weekend events. Create a friendly, safe, and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Build positive relationships with visitors and regulars, offering prayer or pastoral support where appropriate. Coordinate volunteers serving in the cafe. Help plan themed evenings, match-day events, and outreach activities. Ensure the cafe environment reflects Christian values of hospitality, respect, and care. Support communication and promotion of the cafe through social media or church updates.

with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Passionate about using sport and hospitality to share faith and build community. Friendly, approachable, and a good listener. Reliable, proactive, and comfortable engaging with people from all backgrounds. Willingness to work evenings and weekends. Ability to lead or support short prayers or informal faith discussions when appropriate.

Desirable

Experience in ministry, cafe management, hospitality, or youth/community work. Experience in outreach or evangelism. Basic understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality (training provided).

Pay: 14.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
