Job Purpose:
To plan, deliver, and evaluate coaching sessions that improve pupils' skills, fitness, enjoyment, and performance in a specific sport, while promoting health, teamwork, and discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions tailored to the age, ability, and goals of pupils.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during training and competitions.
Organise and manage fixtures, tournaments, and events.
Promote positive attitudes, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Liaise with parents, schools, and sporting bodies as necessary.
Maintain equipment and ensure facilities are used properly.
Maintain accurate records (attendance, progress reports, injury reports).
Uphold safeguarding, equality, and health & safety policies.
Qualifications & Certifications:
Minimum [Level 2 or equivalent] coaching qualification in [specific sport].
First Aid certification.
Safeguarding/Child Protection training.
Experience:
Proven experience coaching in primary schools.
Experience planning Curriculum PE lessons.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong communication and motivational skills.
Knowledge of sport-specific techniques, rules, and strategies.
Ability to plan progressive training sessions.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability.
Ability to manage groups and strong behaviour management skills.
IT literacy for planning, communication, and performance tracking.
Working Conditions:
Variable hours including evenings and weekends.
Outdoor and indoor coaching environments.
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: 20.00-25.00 per hour
