To plan and deliver fun, inclusive and engaging physical activity sessions for children aged 5-12 in after-school clubs and holiday camps. You will use a child-centred coaching approach to promote physical literacy, teamwork, and confidence through a range of sports and games.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver structured and safe sessions in line with the organisation's values and safeguarding policies.
Lead groups of up to 20 children, adapting games to suit different ages and abilities.
Maintain a positive, professional atmosphere that encourages participation and enjoyment.
Set up, pack down and maintain sports equipment and activity areas.
Ensure children are signed in and out appropriately and communicate effectively with parents/carers.
Be alert to safeguarding concerns and report appropriately in line with policy.
Support children with additional needs and help manage behaviour positively.
Essential Requirements
Experience working with children in a coaching, teaching or play setting.
A positive and energetic approach to delivering sport and physical activity.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of health and safety, and child safeguarding best practices.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Desirable
Level 1 or 2 coaching qualification (e.g. in football, multi-sports, gymnastics, dance, etc.)
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Enhanced DBS certificate (or willing to undergo a check)
Safeguarding Children Certificate
Experience supporting children with SEND
