The Role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated

Sports Coach with Outdoor Education teaching experience

to join our team. This exciting role combines sports coaching with planning and delivering outdoor education sessions to classes and groups. You will help children build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through a mix of sport, outdoor challenges, and adventure-based learning.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality PE and multi-sport coaching sessions. Design and lead

outdoor education programmes

(e.g. team-building, problem-solving, nature-based learning, outdoor challenges). Adapt sessions to suit a wide range of ages, abilities, and school needs. Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with safeguarding and risk assessments. Inspire children to engage in physical activity, teamwork, and outdoor learning. Build strong relationships with children, teachers, parents, and colleagues. Support holiday camps, enrichment days, and after-school activities. Participate in CPD and training to further develop coaching and outdoor teaching skills.

Essential Requirements

Minimum

NGB Level 2 coaching qualification

in at least one sport. Experience planning and delivering

outdoor education sessions

. Knowledge of outdoor learning approaches (e.g. Forest School, adventure activities, team building). Strong understanding of child development, group management, and health & safety outdoors. Full UK driving licence and access to transport. Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Desirable Qualifications

Degree in Sports Coaching, Outdoor Education, or related field. Additional NGB coaching qualifications in multiple sports. Outdoor-specific training (e.g. Forest School Leader, DofE, Bushcraft, Expedition Leadership). Valid

First Aid

and

Safeguarding

certifications. Previous experience delivering PE in schools (Key Stages 1 & 2).
