To work alongside and support teachers in both sports and classroom-based lessons at Banstead Prep School to promote the highest standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care throughout the school.

The role is intended to suit recent graduates, or those who are looking for a placement year, with an interest in pursuing a career in education or sports coaching: it is an ideal opportunity to assess whether a career in these fields is right for you. It will provide an all-encompassing experience of school life, working with both the sports and other teaching staff. The work experience will be hugely varied, with opportunities to coach sport, support classroom lessons and a wide range of other extra-curricular activities.

We have some fantastic sports facilities including a swimming pool, full size astro and on-site playing fields. Our children play fixtures weekly from Y3, with training sessions in between. You would also be inspiring our youngest children, teaching them the foundations of sport, as part of our early years specialist provision. We particularly welcome applications from those with experience of any of our core sports: cricket, netball, rugby, football, hockey or swimming. Coaching qualifications would be desirable but are not essential.

You will receive a competitive salary, free school meals, access to parking, and an employee perks programmes as well as the opportunity to join the company pension scheme.

We are part of the United Learning group and for candidates who may be interested in pursuing a career in teaching there are opportunities to train to become a qualified teacher.
