We have an exciting opportunity to join the Education Department at Bristol City Robins Foundation, delivering on our BTEC Level 1 Introductory to Sport course.

We seek a full-time Sports Lecturer to deliver the BTEC Level 1 Introductory to Sport course. This role involves supporting students with varying needs in both classroom and practical settings.

You will work with a smaller group of learners, ensuring they receive the individual support needed to succeed academically, practically, and personally. Alongside teaching and coaching, you will be key in mentoring students, helping them navigate challenges and prepare for their next steps.

Your Main Responsibilities:



Planning and delivering BTEC Level 1 Sport lessons, training sessions, and friendly fixtures. Supporting students through assessments, providing feedback, and ensuring they meet their target grades. Monitoring student progress, attendance, and behaviour, and implementing interventions where necessary. Acting as a mentor to students, helping them achieve academic, practical, and personal goals. Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student outcomes. Developing volunteering and work experience opportunities, preparing students for their next steps in education or employment. Providing pastoral support to promote student wellbeing and adhering to safeguarding protocols.

You will have:



Qualified teaching qualification or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (Essential) - We will support in funding the qualification for the right candidate.*
Mentoring or youth work qualification (Desirable) FA Level 1 in Coaching Football (Desirable) Degree or equivalent in Sport, Education, Coaching & Mentoring, Youth Work or related field (Desirable) Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young learners with varying needs. Previous experience of working with students with SEND and EHCP's, providing tailored support. An ability to plan and deliver engaging BTEC lessons, training sessions and fixtures, with a focus on practical learning. Experience in providing feedback and guidance to help students achieve their target grades. Knowledge of assessing and verifying student work in line with course requirements. Track record in monitoring student progress, attendance, and behaviour, with interventions when necessary. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, promoting positive engagement. Mentoring experience, including an ability to build positive student relationships to support academic and personal development. Strong communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders. Experience in developing volunteering and work experience opportunities for students. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and best practices in an educational and sports setting. IT literate. Full UK Driving License
