Job Description

Applicants must have an interest and knowledge of cricket or hockey equipment, as this role requires guiding customers through technical product choices. Applicants without this requirement will not be considered.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in sport to join our friendly sales team. In this role, you'll use your knowledge to help customers find the right equipment and deliver an excellent customer experience that reflects our brand.

As this position involves opening and closing the store and working independently, applicants must be

18+

. A full driving licence and reliable transport are required, and you should be available to work

evenings, weekends and school holidays

as part of a rota.

The role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work alone and at times, under pressure. You will be expected to greet our customers as they enter the store and direct them to the items they're looking for.

The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service and assist in daily store operations when required. You will be responsible for creating a positive experience whilst assisting customers within the showroom and ensuring safety procedures are met when the indoor cricket batting lane is in use.

Other tasks include responding to customer queries and resolving them in a professional manner, operating the app-based till system, assisting in store maintenance, and maintaining merchandise displays.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and a consistent desire to provide the very best customer service. As a Sports Retail Sales Associate, we expect you to ensure that all our customers leave the store happy.

If you progress to the next stage, you'll be invited into the store so we can understand your level of knowledge and experience. Should you be successful, we will provide full training in any areas where you need support.

Sports Retail Sales Associate Responsibilities:



Greet customers and offer assistance with product selection to ensure customers find what they were looking for Maintain knowledge of current product offerings and promotions to ensure relevant information is provided to customers Open and close the unit when required, ensuring all the opening and closing checklists are completed Organising displays to keep the store neat and appealing, ensuring shelves are continuously stocked (this includes drinks and snack area) Cleaning store floor and displays, office, stockroom, washroom and batting lane area Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems (Shopify) Support store management with administration tasks as needed, including ordering, sales reports, inventory management, and stock-taking Participate in product training and team meetings to stay updated on new products and sales techniques Supervise players within the indoor cricket batting lane and ensure health and safety procedures are met Fulfil online orders and answer telephone calls Listen to customer feedback and pass it on to the store manager Manage product exchanges and returns Monitor inventory and notify store manager of low stock items Cross-sell products as often as possible

Requirements:



Previous retail or sales experience is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and school holidays. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with POS systems or similar retail software preferred but not essential. Knowledge of the product range sold in the store. Strong understanding of the retail sales process Positive attitude and outlook Reliable Professional appearance and demeanour Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and to use a stepladder to retrieve products, when necessary Basic maths and cash handling skills
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract

Pay: 12.80 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 30 per week
