Purpose of the role:
To plan, deliver and assess NCFE and BTEC programmes within the Health,
Fitness and Sports curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and
assessment. The postholder will also provide effective tutorial support and
guidance to learners to help them achieve their full potential.
Principal Accountabilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and effective teaching, learning and
assessment for Level 3 Health, Fitness and Sports programmes.
Provide pastoral and academic support to students through a personal tutor
role, promoting their wellbeing, progress and achievement.
Assist learners and staff in the effective use and management of the Health
and Fitness suite and gym facilities, ensuring a safe, supportive and
professional environment.
Key Tasks:
Plan course delivery in line with study programme requirements
Provides pastoral support to students.
Arranges, monitors and supervises learners on study programmes, educational
visits and field trips
Plans and prepares for inspections, Moderator reports and visits.

As part of the course team, the tutor acts as the main point of contact for students
within a particular year group or course cohort. The tutor's key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting the induction of new students.
2. Providing educational and welfare guidance.
3. Assisting students in developing and reviewing individual action plans.
4. Monitoring attendance, following up absences, and tracking academic progress.
