Sports and/or remedial massage therapist - employed role with fixed hours and a monthly salary + bonus, as well as paid holidays, sick leave and other benefits.

We have a vacancy arising to replace a busy clinician at our physiotherapy & sports injury clinic based in Hertfordshire Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus of University of Hertfordshire (Hatfield).

Bodybalance Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic

is an established company with a team of physiotherapists and one other part-time, employed massage therapist, plus our friedly and supportive admin/reception staff.

You should be dynamic and have great therapy skills. Ideally we are looking for someone with a friendly, bright personality, and who wants to be part of our team for the longer term. We will attract a lot of clientele to the clinic for you from our established client base, but you also need to be able to manage your own list to ensure you are kept busy. A wide variety of therapy skills and techniques is a benefit.

The position is offered on a

permanent part-time employed basis

for a qualified, insured therapist - i.e.

you will have set hours each week and will be paid a set hourly rate with additional commission options, as well as paid holidays and sick pay, etc.

We know this is a bit different to what is usually offered in massage therapist roles, but we want you to feel committed and part of the team, so we aren't looking at options that are just a share of revenue or a fee per appointment.

But we also know that some people need a bit of flexibility, so will consider a "flexible hours" contract depending on the situation (e.g. students who may need time off for exams or clinical placements).

We are looking to fill either 2 or 3 afternoons/evenings per week, preferably a Monday, Thursday and Friday, working 4-6 hours in each session. Being an employed job, we need you to be able to commit to working the same days each week. There is opportunity to expand or change your hours as you settle into the role.

Essential:

Massage therapy qualifications in Sports/Remedial at NVQ Level 3 or above Professional appearance and demeanour Commitment to working set hours each week

Desirable:

Additional therapy qualifications such as pregnancy massage, Shiatsu, swedish, reflexology, lymphatic drainage, etc. Experience working in a professional environment such as a clinic or with a sports team Experience of physiotherapy and an understanding of how physiotherapy and sports massage skills can complement each other to achieve best results for the client

The interview process will initially involve an interview (virtual or in person) to discuss the role and what you can bring to it. The second stage of interview will involve an in-person practical component to demonstrate your communication and therapy skills. If appropriate, we could consider doing both stages of the interview on the same day.

Interviews will be scheduled ad hoc as suitable applications are received. The process may close early if sufficient applications are received.

Please note, the role is from January 2026. We will delay the start for the right person, but we are not able to start the role sooner.
