What to Expect


As a Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist in Energy (Field Service), you'll drive EHS process excellence, influence risk reduction, and achieve outstanding safety outcomes across Commercial, Utility, and Charging Operations and Maintenance in the EMEA region. You'll also contribute to developing and executing global electrical safety programs. Reporting to the EHS Director, Energy and Charging, you'll uphold world-class standards by partnering with senior regional leadership, contracting partners, operational teams, and various Tesla departments to enable continuous improvement and proactive risk management.

What You'll Do

Serve as a key EHS advisor to Tesla Energy business leaders, associates, EHS members, and contractors, offering guidance, education, and support to achieve EHS excellence Maintain a visible, proactive field presence through learning-focused observations and assurance activities to support EHS goals; document findings and collaborate with supervisors, operations teams, EHS personnel, and stakeholders to identify and implement improvements Act as an electrical and EHS technical expert for risk management in product deployment phases, with a focus on commissioning, operation, and maintenanceOversee adherence to EHS management plans by site leads and area managers; perform regular reviews and audits of risk assessments, escalating non-conformances as necessary Respond to EHS events by analyzing root causes, developing preventative actions with management and teams, and promoting Human & Organizational Performance principles to enhance operations Identify operational gaps and lead innovative EHS solutions, including electrical safety aspects, through cross-functional collaboration and key stakeholder engagement Facilitate EHS meetings to share improvements, learnings, and performance metrics, while actively participating in field activities to educate, train, and empower teams on EHS concepts, minimizing risks in alignment with Tesla's vision and values

What You'll Bring

Several years of progressive EHS experience in large-scale organizations, with a background in EHS, engineering, or related fields (Bachelor's degree preferred) Extensive hands-on experience in electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution industries--detailed knowledge of lithium-ion battery storage is a strong plus Proficiency in developing and implementing safety programs that comply with regulatory requirements, including a solid understanding of Electrical Standards (e.g., EU Directives, NFPA 70-E, IEEE, NEC) and practical experience with energized equipment in industrial settings. Familiarity with country-specific regulations (e.g., UK's Health and Safety at Work Act, Germany's Arbeitsschutzgesetz, France's Code du Travail, Belgium's Well-being at Work Act, or Netherlands' Arbowet) is highly desirable Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, globally expanding organization using a 'first-principles' approach, with strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging senior management, regulators, frontline workers, and third-party clients Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving expertise, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to work independently or as a proactive, creative team player in dynamic environments Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects with accountability for outcomes, including training and educating employees on EHS initiatives. Demonstrated expertise in applying governmental and regulatory EHS standards across various settings, along with strong relationship-building and influencing skills at all management levels Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite (including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams). A valid vehicle driving license and professional fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., German, French, Dutch, or others relevant to EMEA) are desirable to support multinational collaboration
