Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in supporting various functions, ensuring the smooth operation of human resources processes, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and be proficient in various HR systems. Reporting into the European HR team, you will be responsible for the Lincoln site HR function of circa 115 employees, working as part of a small local HR team reporting directly in the Director, Human Resources UK/IE. The role does involve high volume recruitment within a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities



Be a role model for our 5 Core Values. Act as the first point of contact on HR queries providing rapid responses which are user-friendly, professionally correct and clearly articulated. Where an immediate response cannot be given, ensure that the enquirer is aware that their query is being addressed and when it will be resolved Assist the HR Team in determining and delivering on HR's strategic priorities. Lead the work required to set up and implement a workforce planning process which enables the organisation to assess future needs. This will include partnering with other key managers to establish current and future workforce plans, including skills gaps and plans ways in which these gaps can be addressed through succession planning, secondments, promotions, transfers or via recruitment Provide expert employment law advice and guidance by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and custom and practices. Manage Monthly payroll via IRIS. Take responsibility for supporting line managers with all HR issues of employees. This includes formal and informal disciplinary and grievance cases, long-term and intermittent sickness absence management and any welfare concerns raised by employees or their managers Provide an efficient, service-oriented recruitment function for all posts, providing support to line managers from role design through to selection and offer stages. This will include recruitment administration. Provide functional expertise on selection and on boarding processes including best advertising channels, design of job advertisements, appropriate selection techniques including aptitude tests, occupational psychology assessments and assessment centres Provide expert professional advice on appropriate terms and conditions of engagement for all workers in the UK Ensure an effective performance appraisal system that creates an environment in which people feel supported, valued and accountable. Assess the effectiveness of the system periodically in terms in ease of use, ability to accurately capture assessment of past performance, support in setting meaningful objectives for the following year and provision of quality training needs data Maintain (and develop where necessary) a comprehensive range of people policies that make ProAmpac a desirable place to work, are aligned with our strategic priorities and principles, and are kept up to date in line with current legal guidance and best practice. Support the HR Team in achieving high levels of worker engagement by taking on workstreams as requested. Lead work on equality, diversity and inclusion so that the organisation can: identify the diversity of its workforce against protected criteria set out in the UK Equalities Act 2010 (or relevant subsequent legislation) Responsible for maintaining electronic copy personnel files, ensuring compliance with data protection legislation Maintaining HR documentation with consultation with the Director, Human Resources. Conduct Exit Interviews and ensure that leaver administration is completed in a timely and accurate manner Coordinate probation period reviews and other performance management documentation Other duties as required by the HR Team to ensure the business is fully supported by the HR function To be flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities and may be asked to perform other duties with reasonably correspond to the general character of the position and are commensurate with its level of responsibility

Skills



Strong data entry skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate record keeping. Excellent administrative abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong Stakeholder management, with the ability to present information and insights. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with employees at all levels. A solid understanding of human resources principles and practices is essential.
