Position Overview:


The Senior Manager, Indirect Tax - EMEA VAT will lead all VAT-related activities across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local regulations while proactively optimizing tax strategies to support the company's broader financial and operational goals. This strategic role serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, overseeing compliance processes, managing audits, enhancing systems, and leading a high-performing team to deliver on the organization's indirect tax objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage the end-to-end VAT compliance and reporting process across EMEA jurisdictions. Provide expert advice on complex VAT issues, including cross-border transactions and legislative changes. Lead the response to tax authority inquiries, audits, and inspections, ensuring strong defensibility and risk management. Partner with internal stakeholders--including Finance, Legal, and Operations--to evaluate and implement tax-efficient business practices. Monitor and interpret changes in VAT legislation across the region and assess business impacts. Drive process improvement initiatives, including automation opportunities, in partnership with the Tax Transformation Team. Ensure the accuracy and transparency of VAT-related balance sheet accounts and reconciliations. Mentor and lead a small team, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Deliver training and guidance to enhance VAT awareness and compliance across business functions.

Qualifications & Experience

8+ years of experience in VAT or indirect tax compliance, advisory, and audit, with regional or global exposure. Proven leadership experience managing VAT functions in a multinational environment. Professional qualification preferred (e.g., ATT, ACCA, ACA, CA, or equivalent). In-depth knowledge of UK and EMEA VAT laws and regulatory frameworks. Strong experience working with tax authorities and managing end-to-end audit processes. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; experience with tax automation tools and ERP systems a plus. * Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and comfortable managing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
