Fire TV is how millions of people watch, share, and enjoy TV every day. We are looking for talented engineering professionals to help Fire TV become the global leader in entertainment with the best experience for customers and partners and the broadest selection of Live content and services.

In this role, you will work with the team building Live TV Middleware for Fire TV. A successful candidate will have strong technical ability, excellent deep diving skills, great communication skills and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

The role is inherently cross-functional: you will work closely with a high-energy team of software engineers, managers, product managers and program leads as well as external partners (inc. device manufacturers, brand & retailers).

We're seeking an engineer who will shape the future of our automation platform, with a particular focus on modernizing our Live TV application testing and deployment pipelines.


The ideal candidate is passionated by test infrastructure, test development, quality, zero regression, innovating with AI and interested by TV & video entertainment domain, with an established track of delivering technology products. The SDET will have an expertise in building automation for testing software in the context of mobile OS and applications.




Key job responsibilities

Design and implement test automation frameworks that leverage AI for intelligent test case creation and autonomous test maintenance for FireTV middleware and applications.



Setup the infrastructure to run tests in the CI/CP pipelines using Android simulator and real hardware solutions



Lead by example by writing tests and support engineering teams to troubleshoot failures.



Design and implement complex automation for Live TV certification test cases.

Define and implement test cases management system.



Define, document and own Live TV certification suite for Fire TV 3P brands





About the team

We drive Fire TV customer experience (CX) by supporting Live TV software foundations globally. We own device customization and onboarding for new markets and regions required for building delightful Live TV experience

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field Extensive industry experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Software Development Engineer (SDE) Strong programming skills in Python, Java, and other modern programming languages with proven expertise in architecting and implementing enterprise-level test automation frameworks Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and architectural concepts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in developing and architecting test automation solutions for mobile applications. Android preferred Understanding and experience developing automation systems and tests with Cloud services as AWS. Proven track record of improving test coverage and testing efficiency through automation
