to oversee and actively participate in the installation of
balustrades
on a construction project in
Southwark, London
. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team, ensuring work is carried out safely, to spec, and on schedule while also taking part in hands-on installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate a team of installers on site.
Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Monitor quality of work and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Liaise with site managers, contractors, and suppliers.
Carry out hands-on balustrade installation (glass, stainless steel, or other systems).
Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks.
Ensure all operatives follow site rules and wear correct PPE.
Report progress, issues, and material needs to the site management team.
Requirements:
Valid
SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
certificate
Proven experience as a
working foreman
in the construction industry
Strong background in
balustrade installation
(metal, glass, or architectural systems)
Ability to lead by example and manage small teams
Good understanding of H&S legislation and site procedures
Valid
CSCS card
(preferably skilled worker or supervisor level)
Own tools and PPE
Good communication and organisational skills
Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
First Aid certificate
Manual Handling or other H&S training
Familiarity with architectural drawings/CAD
Experience working in London construction environments
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 12 weeks
Pay: 20.00-22.00 per hour
