Company Overview



God called us to open St Paul's Hala Pantry, a food community group whose primary goal is to prevent food waste by offering food otherwise destined for landfill, although safe to consume, to our members at a greatly reduced cost. Our secondary aim is to provide a service to those just about managing their household finances - a supplement to their food shopping to give them some breathing space. We actively encourage a range of members to ensure that the perception of attending is not a barrier to attendance. Food is the primary reason our members attend the Pantry but we also provide a listening ear. Christian hospitality and serve the whole person - their physical, relational and spiritual needs. The Pantry has grown since it opened in December 2021 and we serve over 50 households each week.

Summary



We are seeking a temporary Hala Pantry Administrator for the Pantry to take on the week-to-week administration, building on the foundations set in place, and ensure its continued success.

Responsibilities - but not limited to:



Ensure availability of requisite admin supplies; Work with the Parish Safeguarding Officer and GDPR Officer to ensure compliance with all current regulations; Maintain accurate records and documentation; Ensure appropriate training by volunteers is undertaken and records kept; Oversight of approval of Duke of Edinburgh volunteers; Maintain Hala Pantry online (email) and social media (WhatsApp, Facebook) accounts liaising, where appropriate with Hala Pantry Co-ordinator; Maintain financial records; Liaise with suppliers and make bookings as appropriate; Report to Co-ordinator, Vicar and Churchwardens as required; Publicity/Marketing when required using channels agreed with Hala Pantry Co-ordinator, Vicar and Churchwardens including, but not exclusive to, Facebook and Church website; Monitor Lancaster District Justice Food Partnership communications; From time-to-time, when necessary, to cover the lead at Pantry Service; Any other duties commensurate to the level of the post.

Qualifications



GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade C or above; Proven experience in administrative roles or similar positions; Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Email, Social Media); Experience of stock management and ordering; Awareness of Health and Safety, data protection, HR and Safeguarding legislation; A working knowledge of the Church of England, both its public worship and organisational structure, and in sympathy with its mission and aims; A compassionate approach towards community service; Able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times with tact, sensitivity and approachability; Ability to work to strict deadlines; Efficient, reliable, trustworthy, adaptable and flexible; Sense of humour.
