St4 Las (senior Clinical Fellow Level) In Geriatric Medicine

Haverfordwest, WLS, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Due to vacancy in ST Geriatric Medicine Training programme we are seeking a registrar to join a well established and supportive geriatric medicine team in the Acute Frailty Unit at Withybush hospital for one year with the option for extension.

This post will mirror ST training opportunities and can act as a springboard for someone looking to develop their clinical skills and CV in preparation for higher specialty training or portfolio pathway application.

The post is suited to either a doctor in their first registrar role or a more experienced clinician looking to broaden their geriatric medicine experience.

The candidate will work as a central member of the MDT in Acute Frailty Pathway predominantly in Acute Frailty Unit but providing Frailty inreach to ED and at times the opportunity for community working with sessions in intermediate care if desired.

The job plan will include a weekly clinic with the option to rotate into geriatric medicine subspecialties and a session for clinical governance/quality improvement. It is anticipated that work would be presented in the British Geriatric Society meetings in line with previous post holders.

Working with an experienced HEIW ST supervisor the successful applicant will develop a personal development plan. If additional areas of experience are required to ensure Alternative Certificate to Enter Higher Specialty Training can be completed additional experiences such as critical care placement can be arranged.
