We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to operate our kitchen on Wednesdays and Saturdays and to cover holidays as required. Hours of work 9am- approx 5pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation to order, with a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that meet our high standards of quality and presentation. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment and is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Assist in the planning and preparation of meals, including portion control and presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
Collaborate with Cafe Supervisor to ensure smooth operation during service periods.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Adapt recipes and menus based on seasonal availability or dietary requirements
Requirements
Proven experience as a Cook in a Cafe or similar setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation.
A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes.
Shifts - Wednesday & Saturday plus holiday and sick cover
