The Role





Addepar is seeking a

Staff Backend Software Engineer

to join our

Partner Platform

team--one of the most cross-functional, high-impact groups in our organization. This team works across engineering, operations, and product to build scalable solutions on top of Addepar's evolving data lakehouse architecture.



You'll design and deliver backend systems that enable seamless integration of internal and external data sources, support complex client data transformations, and unlock powerful analytics capabilities. You'll also partner directly with teams across the company--from building embedded dashboards to driving strategic acquisition-related projects.



We work in

Python, PySpark, AWS, and Terraform

using Agile methodologies, but we welcome strong engineers with experience in other backend stacks who are excited to learn.

What You'll Do




Build scalable data integration pipelines that support mission-critical projects across the organization Own and contribute to end-to-end engineering projects using the Addepar data lakehouse Partner with stakeholders across analytics, operations, and product to deliver solutions that directly impact clients and business teams Participate in the design, development, and optimization of tools and systems for account conversions, historical data imports, and embedded integrations Maintain and expand the foundational codebase supporting the data lakehouse ecosystem

Examples


Account Conversion Platform:

Engineered the system that enables client data from acquired firms to be merged into Addepar--a complex, high-visibility initiative.

Embedded Integration System:

Helped internal teams transition to modern dashboards powered by Addepar's lakehouse, including designing a repeatable integration pattern to support scalable analytics.

Historical Data Conversion:

Currently the company's #1 priority--migrating large, complex datasets from competitor platforms and internal systems into Addepar with accuracy, scale, and performance.

Who You Are





Must-Have Skills


Strong programming experience (preferably in Python) Solid background in databases and working with large datasets (e.g. Spark, other big data frameworks) Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
