The Staff Environmental Advisor (Land Quality) will support the planning, assessment and delivery of land quality and geo-environmental services across a wide range of infrastructure projects. This may include power, process, corporate, healthcare, airports, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. Working in co-operation with our engineers and consultants, you will design and implement site investigations, compile and interpret soil and groundwater data, contribute to remediation strategies and assist with land referencing according to budget constraints, design factors and client needs.
Contribute to environmental planning, assessment, and design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
Support the design and coordination of site investigations, including soil logging, chemical and geotechnical sampling. Groundwater and ground gas monitoring. In-field health, safety and air and vapor monitoring.
Conduct fieldwork: soil, water, gas sampling, ecological and land quality inspections
Applies knowledge of commonly used environmental engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the environmental industry.
Record and manage investigation data: update databases, and prepare analyses.
Prepare and compile technical outputs; ground investigation plans, risk assessment summaries, and remediation options.
Contribute to remediation design tasks, liaising with specialists on solutions such as soil treatment or containment systems.
Participate in sales and marketing efforts.
Contribute to developing cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
Contribute to project budgeting, cost estimation and reporting of project performance.
Effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
Undertake site roles, including environmental clerk of works, ecological site inspections, environmental audits and reporting thereof
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science, Engineering, Technology or related degree from an accredited program.
Associate or Chartership of a relevant professional body or equivalent.
3 years of environmental experience, specifically in Land Quality-related consulting, preferred, or equivalent.
Some experience in ecology and/or landscape architecture and/or consents & permitting and/or air quality or acoustics would be an advantage.
Experience in GIS would also be an advantage.
An understanding of environmental legislative and regulatory requirements and consents process in England/Wales.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of standard/best practice engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong computer skills.
Strong attention to detail, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
