Job Description

Are you a Nurse who can work in a fast-paced environment due to our high patient turnover, able to work for flexible shift patterns and with good communication skills & clinical judgement.



We have a wonderful opportunity to work on Medical short stay ward in Basildon Hospital.



Medical short stay ward provides care to all patients at the point of discharge.



Your role will be to give and receive patient centered handovers, a ssessing, developing and implementing patient care plan and evaluating care given, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.



You will ensure all drug administration is in accordance with legal and Trust directorate policies and procedures, a ssisting with safe custody, storage and control of all drugs at ward level and t o ensure the discharge planning process starts on admission, to prevent delays and make good utilisation of ward beds.



Your role involves assisting and supervising other members of the nursing team as appropriate ensuring that all staff work to and achieve an acceptable safe standard and quality of care, a ssisting on the monitoring of all ward staff as required and facilitate and supervise more junior staff in maintaining patient care, allocating staff according to patient dependency taking all steps possible to safeguard the health, welfare and safety of all staff and patients



Your role will involve receiving from other wards through out the hospital ensuring a safe and seamless discharge is facilitated back to their place of residence.
