Job Description

We're a small team but this is a HUGE opportunity. We are busy, it's fast paced but by goodness we hit things head on and move mountains.

When you walk onto our Unit, immediately on the left you will see our patients receiving their treatment - for visitors it is raw & humbling but for us, making them comfortable and caring about every single one of them is what we do best. Our team are proud to look after people from all ages, ethnicities, genders, giving them genuine love, care and support when they are often at their most scared and anxious. We all know the impact Cancer has, so joining our team, you will play such a big part in our patients journey

We are proud of our whole team approach. You will see your colleagues every day which ensures our strong team approach as we work collectively to support every patient & their families through this very difficult time.

The impact you make is essential part of working with us. You may never have considered working in our Oncology Service so we welcome you with open arms.

A typical day sees you looking after your own patients who come in for their treatment, providing them with information, stability and empathy - you will really get to know them and become their extended family. They're looking to you to support them, and regardless whether they are your first or last patient of the day, they all need the very best of you.

We asked our team what the best part of the role was, they said 'Seeing the difference we make first hand'

You'll have the chance to work with colleagues in our whole Oncology Service, our aspiration is also a rotation to include Out Patients & Ribblesdale Ward for some roles.

We don't do nights or weekends so feel this really offers something a little different to balance real life alongside it. We are open 8am - 7pm Monday to Friday at Preston & Wednesday to Friday 8am - 5pm at Chorley.

We want you to become the best version of you, so you will have the opportunity to:

Work autonomously in the management of your caseload

Play your part in the treatment of this illness, and rejoicing when people are discharged to continue their recovery

Continue to learn and develop around all things oncology, working with our wider Oncology service colleagues, taking all that knowledge and learning to help you with your future career choices
