Would you like to work with a friendly, proactive and supportive team in an environment where the individualised care you give makes all the difference? We are looking for a full time Band 5 RN to work at our Lewes Intermediate Care Unit.
Lewes is a 26 bedded unit providing nursing and therapy care to patients who have either had a stay in an acute hospital or may have been unwell at home and need a bit of help to avoid an admission to a big hospital. We aim to get people back on their feet so they can return to their home by ensuring their environment is safe and their abilities are optimized. We also accept patients who require complex discharge planning, palliative and end of life care.
You will need sound, up to date clinical skills, be reliable and have a flexible approach with a proactive leadership style. Whether you are experienced, looking for your first job or looking to return to practice, we will be happy to support and develop you in your career.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly on both day and night shifts.
Lewes also has free on-site parking facilities which can be used by staff.
As a staff nurse on the ward you will play an important part in the patients' recovery. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to use and develop key skills, providing holistic assessment and patient care. You will be responsible for contributing to care, observing, monitoring and recording patients' progress whilst communicating and managing effectively any changes in their condition and planning their safe discharge. Liaising with external partners and patients' families is a very important part of the role.
