Job Description

There is an opportunity to join a expert team of nursing staff in the upper and lower gastro intestinal surgical field of nursing.



The successful post holder requires to be motivated to learn, to enjoy a fast paced surgical environment, and to work well within a team.



The ward main service users are elective admissions who require nursing care post surgery, along with emergency admissions from surgical assessment unit and post operative patients who require care in surgical special care post surgery.



The successful candidate will be expected to learn or carry out varied surgical procedures in line with the UHNM trust polices and procedures.



To have the ability to manage time effectively and the ability to use critical thinking to achieve safe effective patient outcomes .



To act as a professional role model to the patients and their families using effective communications skills to support best patient outcomes.



The post holder will be committed to continued learning to facilitate development.



The is opportunity to work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team to support current patient care pathways.
