Job overview This is a 23 hour Band 5 staff nurse post within an outpatient service. The post holder will work within this specialised team of consultants / nurse colposcopist , trained and untrained staff providing specialist outpatient colposcopy / hysteroscopy services to patients. Clinics currently take place Monday - Friday during daytime hours . due to service expansion and exciting changes are currently in progress within the gynaecology service ; there may be a requirement for the post holder to work at either the City or QMC campus depending on clinical need in the future. As such the post holder needs to have a flexible working approach to join in this team.

  • Carry out direct patient care
  • Undertake nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the Multi Disciplinary Team in order to promote efficient patient care and maintain effective channels of communication.

  • Maintain awareness of the developments in the care and treatment of patients in order to be able to carry out duties competently and efficiently .

Working for our organisation The women\'s unit is a small dedicated team made up of consultants , colposcopists , trained and untrained nursing staff with dedicated administrative support. Clinics are held Monday To Friday with core hours between 08.30 to 16.30 depending on clinical activity. The team regularly receive high patient satisfaction feedback which is a testament to their hard work and high standards. Detailed job description and main responsibilities These are contained in full in the job description but will comprise of :
  • Working clinically
  • supporting consultants / colposcopist and trained and untrained staff
  • supporting patients and acting as their advocate during clinic procedures
  • Answering the telephone, addressing concerns or passing on information to relevant team members
  • Supporting patients to provide feedback via the friends and family test to ensure the services delivered meet patients needs.

  • Completing documentation

  • Current level one NMC registration

  • diploma / degree in health/ nursing related studies
