Phase 2 includes construction and set up of a comprehensive radiology service including CT and MRI, construction of operating theatre and endoscopy suites.

The role:
In this role, you will be responsible for the nursing care of the outpatient department providing safe and effective care to both patients and their families.
Core Responsibilities:
Responsible for individualised patient care of the highest standard.
Working closely with the Consultants, nursing colleagues and clerical staff.
Act as a chaperone where necessary
Co-ordinate and assist Minor Gynae / Colposcopy / Hysteroscopy Clinics /ENT out-patient procedures independently
Being accountable and accessible to all staff, patients and their families
Acting with the upmost professionalism and in adherence to the NMC code of conduct
Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs
A 'hands on' role within the nursing environment and hospital leadership
Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
Promote best evidence-based practice
Monitor, apply and ensure others comply with legislation, policies and procedures
Ensure that all departmental documents, policies and procedures are up-to-date and in line with current thinking, guidelines and laws
Provide administrational, organisational and managerial support to the Matron
What you will be doing:
Be involved in the daily handovers to communicate all aspects of care and needs
To demonstrate excellent communication skills within all nursing care
To assess and plan nursing daily care
Provide pre- and post-operation care
To supervise and mentor staff nurses, healthcare assistants (HCAs) and student nurses
Develop the skills and behaviours of the staff to ensure clinical excellence and patient safety
To efficiently and accurately complete all written documentation and record keeping
Ensure the working environment is as safe as possible and complies with company, professional, legal requirements and guidelines
Adhere to Infection Prevention Control policies and procedures
To work closely with the Procurement Department
To assist and support the Matron with any additional departmental work
To assist in audits and spot-checks, utilising results to maintain / uplift the standards within the hospital
Liaising with senior members of staff on hospital-wide matters
Covering Matron's duties when required
Who we are looking for:
NMC Registered with a valid PIN
Degree in adult general nursing
Experience working in an Outpatients setting with surgical experience, ideally Gynaecology, ENT/Dermatology/ Orthopedic or Colorectal.
Proven experience in wound management, and competent in removal of all types of sutures, clips and aseptic dressings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate own workload.
Friendly and adaptable approach who is able to work as part of a team and has an awareness of clinical audit and clinical governance
Ability to demonstrate high standards of verbal and written communication
Ability to present information clearly and concisely
Ability to work flexibly, take accountability and respond to urgent matters in a calm, well-measured and informed manner
Ability to follow instructions and work to time constraints
