VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting a Staff Officer Accountant to join an interesting civil service employer based in Belfast. This is an interim contract role which is scheduled for approx. 6 months, with the potential for extension.
The Staff Officer Accountant will be responsible for working in the wider finance team, ensuring the monthly deliverables are met on time. This will include monthly management accounts, budget preparation, preparing payment runs, ad hoc project accounting and much more. To be considered for this role it is essential to be a Qualified Accountant along with previous experience of working in a busy finance function.
This is a role that is interviewing immediately and will offer the incoming Finance Manager hybrid working, consisting of 3 days a week in the office, 2 days remote.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a demanding environment
- Budget preparation experience
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assist in the consolidation of group accounts and preparation of reporting packs for leadership team
- Support business through the annual budget cycle
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements
- Verify and approve payment of staff expenses
- Ad hoc project work
