An excellent opportunity exists to join a dynamic and progressive multi-disciplinary team in one of the largest hand therapy units in the UK, at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled physiotherapist or occupational therapist to join our existing hand service.
Based predominantly in the Plastic Surgery Out-Patient Department, the hand therapy team accepts referrals from plastic surgery, rheumatology, orthopaedics and accident and emergency. There would also be an opportunity to participate, under supervision, in the Practitioner Led Therapy Clinics.
The post requires an ability to work closely with a team of multi-professionals including hand surgeons, nursing staff and therapists, covering the full spectrum of hand surgery with a predominantly trauma-based caseload, a commitment to audit and research and continuing professional development is necessary.
There may be a need to work across several sites.

Applicants should demonstrate excellent clinical and organisational skills with Clinical experience to include Hand Therapy and/or Burns and Plastics. Previous attendance at accredited BAHT courses would be desirable.
They will possess a good level of splinting skills.
They will be required to supervise and act as a role model for more junior members of the team and students.
We require a therapist who is a good team worker, communicator and educator, who is flexible with regard to work patterns and who is prepared to maintain high standards of evidence based clinical practice and demonstrate a commitment to audit, research and continuing professional development.
