Brief Description
We're recruiting a Station & Depot Portfolio Manager to join our North West & Central Region (NW&C) - a team that covers three routes (North West, Central, West Coast South) and drives forward some of the UK's most exciting transport programmes.
In this role, you'll lead the transition and simplification of our Station and Depot leased estate into Great British Railways. It's about efficiency, innovation, and unlocking new revenue opportunities that benefit the wider industry.
You'll provide senior leadership, act as a trusted management contact point, and support a team of four surveyors in delivering major transactions, strategic advice, and high-value outcomes.

About the role (External)
What You'll Be Doing
As Station & Depot Portfolio Manager, you'll:
  • Provide senior-level representation and guidance on all station and depot property matters.
  • Lead on major property initiatives, including lease renewals, enhancement projects, and franchise replacements.
  • Develop and embed strategies that maximise estate performance, asset value, and compliance with safety and regulatory obligations.
  • Champion continuous improvement and best practice, embedding a culture of excellence across teams.
  • Oversee budgeting and performance management of in-house teams and suppliers.
  • Deliver income targets, manage expenditure, and unlock opportunities for commercial growth.
  • Guide, mentor, and motivate teams - ensuring expertise, collaboration, and innovation thrive.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring:
  • Degree-level education (or equivalent).
  • MRICS qualification.
  • Strong experience in managing complex property portfolios.
  • Proven negotiation skills at a senior level.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and budget management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
It would also be great if you had:
  • Post-qualification experience.
  • A full UK driving licence.
