The Statutory Compliance & Assurance Officer plays a key role in supporting risk governance, legal compliance, and assurance reporting across the Battersea Power Station estate. This includes oversight of all statutory systems (e.g. fire, gas, water, lifts, asbestos, electrical safety) and the effective use of CAFM platforms and compliance reporting tools.
The role supports internal teams and contractors in meeting their regulatory duties, while also coordinating digital compliance systems, internal audits, evidence for ISO standards, and readiness for existing and new legislation. It is a pivotal role within the estate's operational compliance structure, contributing to a safe, legally compliant, and forward-thinking built environment.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Compliance
Ensure the estate remains compliant with all statutory obligations including fire safety, gas, water hygiene, asbestos, electrical, and vertical transportation.
Monitor legal updates (e.g. Building Safety Act, Fire Safety (England) Regs) and brief relevant teams on their implications.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and surveyors to ensure inspections, documentation, and remedial actions are completed in line with best practice.
Support readiness for Martyn's Law through documentation, process improvement, and public-facing compliance initiatives.
System Management & Digital Compliance
Act as primary user and lead for CAFM and digital compliance systems (e.g. Data Station, Dome, Records for Buildings).
Maintain document accuracy, system integrity, and data governance standards.
Upload contractor documents, inspection reports, and statutory records in line with audit readiness requirements.
Develop and produce compliance dashboards, risk logs, and monthly performance reports.
Audit, Assurance & Risk Governance
Maintain the estate's compliance risk register and escalate non-compliance issues to senior stakeholders.
Coordinate internal and external compliance audits including related ISO requirements.
Work closely with the Senior Risk, Safety & Compliance Manager to review trends, track KPIs, and implement improvements.
Monitor supplier compliance against documentation and service delivery KPIs.
Stakeholder Engagement
Support the training matrix and promote a proactive compliance culture across the team.
Work with ESG leads and operational managers to deliver sustainability-linked compliance objectives.
Liaise with partners as required on safety-related communications and drills.

Essential Experience:
Compliance Knowledge:
Demonstrable experience managing property compliance across key areas (e.g. fire, water hygiene, asbestos, lifts, gas, electrical).
Systems Familiarity:
Strong working knowledge of compliance management platforms, including Data Station, Elogs, Dome, and digital logbooks.
Audit and Reporting
: Proven ability to conduct audits, monitor compliance, and produce insightful reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory Insight
: Familiarity with UK statutory frameworks relating to building safety, facilities, and landlord obligations.
Multi-Stakeholder Coordination:
Experience working with contractors, tenants, suppliers, and internal teams to close out compliance actions.
Accreditation Support: Capable of compiling and presenting evidence for audits and industry accreditations.
Desirable Experience:
Estate Profile
: Experience in managing compliance within high-profile, mixed-use, or public-facing estates.
ISO & ESG Exposure
: Involvement in ISO 45001 / 14001 audits or ESG-related reporting and action plans.

: Confidence engaging across technical, residential, and client audiences to deliver shared compliance outcomes.
Working Hours - 9am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5hrs)
Salary - 40k -45k dependant on experience
