Job Description

Primarily involved in all aspects of structural steel beam and column erection, from off loading beams from the trailer to final plumbing and lining. Projects are wide and varied from industrial portal frames, schools, production facilities, through to high rise multistorey buildings.

The core principals are the same as part of a five man squad attended by a mobile crane or tower crane plus Mewps, erecting steel as per the load list and erection drawings. There is a lead slinger/banksman on the ground slinging and instructing the crane driver, with two men operating Mewps to catch the steel to construct the frame and the fifth man following on with cold rolled material and secondary steel.

Occasionally the client may require concrete stairs. floor slabs or packs of metal decking to be landed within the structure as the frame progresses.

Site locations will vary throughout the UK and Ireland, currently a considerable number of opportunities are in Dublin, Tyrone and South Down.

Pay: 18.00-19.00 per hour
