As a Steel Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating parts both large and small and other products in accordance with project specifications and engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience in metalworking, welding, and fabrication processes, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Job Overview:
The Steel Fabricator will be responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of machinery, equipment, and tools used within Turf World's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication:
Cut, shape, and assemble steel parts, components, and structures based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Welding:
Perform various welding techniques (MIG, ARC) to join metal parts together securely and precisely.
Drawing Specification:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure correct fabrication and installation.
Metalworking:
Use hand tools, power tools, and machine equipment (e.g., plasma cutters, grinders, and saws guillotine, radial drill) to shape metal parts.
Assembly:
Assemble and position steel parts and components, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
Quality Control:
Inspect completed fabrications for accuracy, quality, and safety standards. Make adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
Maintenance:
Maintain and care for all fabrication equipment, ensuring that tools and machinery are in good working order.
Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of projects.
Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and ensure that all work is done in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Steel Fabricator.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in steel fabrication or related field.
Vocational training or certification in mechanical.
Valid driver's license (manual transmission).
Skills & Experience:
Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals.
Experience with welding, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting a plus.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Personal Attributes:
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts if necessary.
Working Conditions:
The role will require working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
Physical demands include the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment and tools.
Overtime may be required, especially during peak seasons.
