Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of structural steel and metal fabrication, with the ability to work effectively in various environments. This role requires physical stamina and the capability to perform heavy lifting, as well as proficiency with hand and power tools. The Ironworker will play a crucial role in the construction and assembly of metal structures, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

Assemble and erect steel frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures. Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld metal components. Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre large steel pieces into place. Collaborate with other construction professionals, including carpenters and masons, to ensure project specifications are met. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards. Follow detailed blueprints and specifications during construction processes. Operate commercial vehicles when required for transportation of materials.

Experience

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site. Familiarity with welding techniques and masonry work is advantageous. Experience in using various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform tasks involving heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred but not essential.
