Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steel Fixer/Nip Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural ironwork and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Duties

Fabricate, assemble, and erect metal structures, including beams, columns, and frameworks. Perform welding tasks using various techniques to join metal components securely. Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing materials. Conduct heavy lifting and manoeuvring of materials as required on-site. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and masons, to ensure seamless integration of ironwork into broader construction projects. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Operate lorries for transporting materials when necessary. Assist in roofing tasks as required during project execution.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in welding techniques and the use of hand and power tools. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Familiarity with carpentry practices is advantageous. Capability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the workday. Experience in masonry work is a plus but not essential. A valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting materials on-site. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
