Position Overview



DPL is seeking a reliable and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee on-site operations for our structural steel installation projects. This hands-on role is critical to ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you'll act as the key point of contact on-site--supervising teams, managing resources, and driving day-to-day progress in line with deadlines, health and safety regulations, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring projects run smoothly and in accordance with plans and specifications

Manage operatives and subcontractors on-site, maintaining productivity and high workmanship standards

Enforce strict health and safety compliance, including RAMS, LOLER/PUWER inspections, inductions, and permit-to-work requirements

Conduct and record weekly safety inspections and proactively maintain clean, hazard-free site environments

Ensure all installation work complies with ITPs and project quality standards, reporting non-conformances to the Operations Manager

Maintain clear and consistent communication between site teams, clients, and internal stakeholders

Oversee resource allocation, material deliveries, and equipment usage to ensure project efficiency

Record daily activities including timesheets, deliveries, variations, and progress updates

Monitor programme progress, flag delays or risks early, and work with the Operations Manager to adjust plans as required

Identify and report any variations from scope, design changes, or client-directed works for commercial action

Support conflict resolution on-site and provide practical solutions to challenges in real-time

Promote DPL's values and reputation through professional conduct and a commitment to quality execution

Qualifications and Skills



Proven experience in supervising structural steel installation or similar construction projects

Strong understanding of site-based health and safety protocols, including RAMS, LOLER, PUWER, and CDM regulations

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, method statements, and quality documentation

Excellent organisation, leadership, and communication skills

CSCS Supervisor card required

SSSTS or SMSTS certification essential

First Aid at Work (preferred)

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism under pressure

Competent in record-keeping, site documentation, and reporting procedures
