We have an industry leading staff to student ratio, meaning we can spend more 1-2-1 time with our students, and our teachers join in with all activities and excursions to encourage the use of English We offer unique, high value excursions, including our now famous OVERNIGHT excursions to either a medieval castle or in lively London! We push the boundaries on what activities can be offered at a summer school, from colour runs, escape games, assault courses and music bingo! We cap each language to 20%, meaning there is a maximum of 30 children with the same mother tongue at each campus
YOUR ROLE:

As a STEM Teacher at Samiad Summer School, you will play a crucial role in providing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics lessons to international students with varying levels of proficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to teach children from all over the world in one classroom. TEACHING, PLANNING AND DELIVERING

Deliver engaging and effective STEM lessons in English to students with diverse language proficiency levels.? Design and implement curriculum activities aligning with language learning objectives.? Under the guidance of the Teaching Coordinator, prepare lessons and adapt existing materials to suit students' needs and abilities. PowerPoints and handouts are provided.? Assess students' language skills and monitor their progress throughout the programme.? Provide constructive feedback to enhance students' language development.? Tailor teaching methods to accommodate students with different learning styles andlanguage backgrounds.? Foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for students adjusting to a new languageenvironment.? Collaborate with other STEM teachers and programmeme staff for a cohesive and effectivelanguage programme.? Communicate regularly with academic coordinators to discuss student progress andaddress challenges.? Manage student behaviour effectively to create an academically fulfilling environment.? Encourage student participation through an enthusiastic approach to your work.? Attend staff meetings as necessary.? Keep all administration up-to-date, including class registers, work records, and studentreports, in a professional and timely manner as delegated by the Teaching Coordinator.? Prepare and deliver Intensive English classes (all teachers may be required to participatein this programme for part of their contract depending on student demand).? Take on up to seven activity/event or welfare sessions within your working hours, whichcould include extra English.?
WELFARE AND EXCURSIONS

Take on up to seven activity/event or welfare sessions within your working hours, which could include extra English. Having been briefed beforehand, you will guide students on excursions, including overnight stays. Take on responsibilities for house duties, such as wake-up routines and oversight, contributing to the overall goal of promoting a positive atmosphere within our summer schools.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

CELTA, TESOL or TEFL, or PGCE in relevant subjects, BEd, QTS. Extensive experience in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages, particularly in a summer school or international setting. Must be eligible to work in the UK. English-speaking Strong classroom management and communication skills. Strong leadership and organisational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

PAY AND HOURS OF WORK
English Teachers are scheduled for 18 sessions per week, which includes preparation time and two mealtimes daily. Each day is divided into three sessions -- morning, afternoon, and evening. Pay starts at 500 per week, inclusive of food and accommodation.
